Expected result: The youtube video to play for more than 30 seconds
Reproduces how often: Nearly every video I attempt to watch

@JamiePRose,
Have you tried clearing cache/site data for Youtube yet? If not, I’d try this first to se if there’s some “bad data” stuck in the cache causing the issue. To do this quickly:
Still occuring intermittently after following your steps. It appears to be random as to when it does it. Refreshing the pages sometimes fixes it but not always.
Completely nuked my site data and cookies for all of Brave, issue is still happening. This was not happening in the previous version of Brave. Do you know how to backdate Brave to the previous version so I can have my youtube functioning?
This is untennable and unacceptable that a website will completely refuse to function on your browser, a website used by hundreses of millions of people.
@JamiePRose I would not recommend using older versions of the browser as it may make you more vulnerable to attacks and/or encountering other bugs that were not yet fixed with the latest release.
Can you please confirm whether or not you have any extensions installed in the browser at this time?
I have had great success in the past with rolling back apps to better versions that acutally worked.
To answer your question, yes I do. I currently have the following installed and active: Freevee Skipper, Workona Spaces, and Google Docs Dark Mode. @Mattches
Last test here – can you please launch a guest profile (Menu --> More tools --> Guest profile), close your original profile window, then test Youtube there and tell me if you get the same results.
Then I would recommend updating back to the latest build to ensure that you have the latest fixes and security protections, considering the issue persists either way.
Can you confirm for me that, under the same conditions, you don’t see this particular issue in other browsers (namely Chromium browsers like Chrome, Edge, etc)?
Well… looks like it might have been windows that broke things, which is still not a good look that a browser can break with an arrent OS update. I don’t have the time to truely test it out tonight, but YT shorts no longer freeze after one or two and I was able to watch a whole video with no freezes. Will check more later.
