I’ve been experiencing a weird issue on Brave browser, when I search something in Google. After clicking the search button, it first shows me the “normal” results for a brief moment, after which it appears to refresh the search results and forward my search to “youronlinesearches.com”. If I search Google for this domain, it shares that the browser’s search results are hijacked and points towards a hostile plugin or addon. However when I check Brave’s active addons, I see nothing that could be causing this behaviour.
Is this something Brave does itself or has anyone seen similar behaviour? I’ve added a video and a screenshot showing that it refreshes the search results when searching for “Test”.

Sorry to question your suggestions, but how does resetting my SAFARI website data fix the issue I’m experiencing on BRAVE Browser on MACOS (hence why I tagged #macos)

Additionally, try to use guest mode, in order to get a Private window, you’d have to hit the tabs button (like you’re trying to switch tabs, it’s a little box with a number showing how many tabs open). Then while it’s showing all open tabs, you’ll see the Private button to click on. From there.
If that works, try disabling your extensions to see if this is the cause of the issue.
You can open a Guest Window by going to Main menu --> Open Guest window:
On your computer, open Brave.
At the top right, click Menu → More tools → Extensions.
On to the extension you want to remove, click Remove.
Thank you. I managed to identify the culprit! Thank you. A plugin called “image downloader” decided it would be fun to change all search results. I now changed it to allow access to website content only “on click” which prevents the issue from happening. Thanks for the help!
