You sent 1 BAT to Brave Software International!

How did this happen?
I did not verify the transaction. Is there an explanation for that?

I advise other members to transfer all bat to other wallets and potentially close uphold account. I personally uninstalled brave. That 's it for me.

Verify if you have auto-contribution on and deactivate it.

Even if I had which I doubt it because I had deactivate it, this was a transaction from my account in uphold.

Any contribution should be taken into account before any BAT reach my uphold account.

The above message means that Brave has the authority to make a transfer transaction from my uphold account without my approval.

Check autocontribute on ALL of your verified devices.

If you have it activated, then you are giving approval for Brave to do auto-contributions. That’s what “auto” means.

I read again the User Terms of Service stating that:
“Contributions are sent from User Wallets and made available to sites that are Brave Verified Publishers through a process facilitated by our third-party wallet provider, Uphold.”

So for the community reference yes essentially you authorize Uphold for Brave to make the transaction.

Thanks for reporting. I’d like to ask a few questions to start:

  • Auto Contribute is ON by default and must be manually turned OFF. Did you turn it OFF?
  • Do you have multiple devices linked to your Uphold? If so, is Auto Contribute turned OFF on each of these devices?
  • Can you share a screenshot of your Contributions and Event Log tabs which can be found here brave://rewards-internals/

Thank you in advance!

I wonder when Brave will stop this nonsense and finally set the default AutoContribute to OFF…

Am I the only person who uses Brave because it’s a great browser and not because it earns me 3 bucks a month?
