XDM doesnt work after updating Brave Browser

XDM doesnt work after updating Brave Browser

  1. XtremeDownloadManager Plugin (version 2.1) worked well until I updated Brave Browser.
  2. Now I get an error message that XDM version 7 is required.
  3. I’ve already installed XDM (Version 7.2.11 with Java Eclipse OpenJ9 11.0.6 on Linux) but can’t force them both to cooperate.
  4. In chrome web store there’s only XDM version 2.1 available.

Expected result:

Brave Version 1.21.73 Chromium: 89.0.4389.72 (Offizieller Build) (64-Bit)

Additional Information: Linux Mint 19.1 Cinnamon, Kernel: 4.15.0-136-generic

@DaddyJ,
Thanks for reaching out.
I’ve seen a few extra reports of extensions “breaking” after the latest update and am digging into the cause.
For now, would you be willing to download (if you don’t already have one installed) either Chrome or MS Edge and tell me if the extension still works as intended on those browsers, or if you get the same behavior in Brave?

Sorry,
I won’t use Chrome or Edge for certain reasons.

@DaddyJ,

Can you try installing Brave Beta and add the extension to it to see if you get the same results?

As far as I know, the Beta version is not available for Linux yet.

@DaddyJ,
Brave Beta is available for Linux and all OS:

In Brave version 89.1.23.48 (official build beta (64-Bit)) this issue has been solved (Linux Mint 19.1 Cinnamon). :+1:
Is it possible to transfer favorites and saved passwords into the Beta?
