WordPress colour de-saturation

Description of the issue:

Colours are de-saturated in photographs when viewed on (my own) WordPress site in Brave Browser. The colours are not de-saturated when viewing the same WP site, and photo, in Firefox. When the photo is opened directly in Brave Browser (from desktop file) it looks perfect with no colour de-saturation. Clearly, the interaction between WordPress, and Brave Browser is causing the colours to be weaker.

Steps to Reproduce (add as many as necessary): 1. 2. 3.

I’ve tried saving the photos in different formats, and tried TinyPNG (online conversion website) but with no luck. Initially, the de-saturation issue was present in Firefox, but it was resolved (only in Firefox) when saving images (JPGs) in the sRGB format (in Photoshop).

Operating System and Brave Version(See the About Brave page in the main menu):

Windows 10; Brave Browser: Version 1.44.86 Chromium: 105.0.5195.127 (Official Build) beta (64-bit)

Thanks for any help.

@pacificus,
Thank you for reaching out to us.

Would you mind sharing the link to your WordPress website (or a link to that specific image on your site) so I can see how images appear there on my end?

Additionally, can you try disabling Hardware Acceleration in settings to see if this resolves the issue?

You’ll find this in Settings --> Additional Settings --> System --> Hardware Acceleration
