Won’t play videos on certain sites because of a “technical error” (error: 100000)

The same error code appears in other sites as well

It’s okay – they’re in the process of being reworked anyway. Ideally you would fill out the template that you find inside the editor when you go to make a post. But to speed things up:

  1. Can you tell me what OS you’re using?
  2. Have you updated Brave to the latest release?
  3. Can you send a screenshot of the error as it appears on your end?

When I test this, I’m able to view the video on the page without issue, using default Shields settings:

Apologies for the late response. It appears that the site requires some from of device recognition to properly render the media. In your Shields panel, change the Device Recognition setting to Allow all... and let the page refresh.

I disabled the device detection shield (wish I knew it was called fingerprinting protection) and it is now working! Thanks!

Ps: the video also wouldn’t work when I disabled all shields. It works when ONLY disabling fingerprinting, strange. Maybe look into that, and thanks again
