Wise.com website extremely slow in Brave vs. other browsers

The website https://wise.com as a logged in user is extremely slow in Brave. Some page element loading takes ~5-10 times longer than other browsers. For cilickable page elements/controls that do render quickly, response to clicks is delayed ~5-10 times longer than other browsers.
Behavior is not improved with shields down - same behavior with shields down, or up.

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Go to https://wise.com
  2. Log into your user account (this will require people with user account on wise.com to verify and regress)
  3. Attempt to navigate the site, and attempt to perform typical functions that involve moving from page to page and/or page to overlay.
  4. Repeat the above with other browsers, e.g. as identified below.

Expected result:
Acceptable response and performance as on other browsers.

Brave Version( check About Brave):
Version 1.24.82 on Ubuntu linux 18.04, XFCE desktop environment.

Additional Information:
Performance of wise.com site is as expected on other browsers. Tested vs. following on same hardware & OS:
Firefox 88.0.1
Chromium 90.0.4430.93

I do have a login, and tested it, and seems slow but the requests from wise.com are the issue.

It seems to be a wise.com issues, getting “Waiting for wise.com” and then it timed out to cloudflare error message. It could feel more intermittent, which may feel one browser is slower than another.

Thanks, and, it may be yours that is a coincidental sample when Wise or other stuff along the way is slow or having issues.

This is consistent for me over well more than three repros at different days and times of day. Wise is always unbearably slow with Brave, and other browsers are always “as expected” speed. I use Brave as my default browser so I’m pretty aware of when I have to change browsers to use a site.

NOTE: just ran some updates, including Brave, now at:
Version 1.24.85 Chromium: 90.0.4430.212 (Official Build) (64-bit)

Still same behavior…

Apart from a login, all I’m testing is menu response

At a guess, try adding @@||api-js.mixpanel.com/decide/$xmlhttprequest,domain=wise.com into brave://adblock

Thanks, and, this issue occurs with shields down, see original writeup.

I added the suggested line into adblock custom field anyhow. No difference in behavior.

This is an end user issue. 99.97% of end users are not going to add some cryptic string of chars to a custom settings field. They just think “oh, this browser sucks.”

Wise is script heavy so I would suspect some script code that Brave is choking on vs. other browsers for some reason. I can literally hear my CPU winding up during the delays between actions on the site (well OK, just the fan speeding up :-). Can see the CPU activity spike on htop as well.
Doesn’t do that on other browsers. Including chromium which is base for Brave.
