Windows 7 Pro: Cannot open URLs even when set to default

Description of the issue:
For awhile, I’ve used Brave as my default browser, but sometimes on random startups, it won’t register as the default browser. It somehow cannot open links anymore as it appears as “Unknown Application” under the Default Programs Menu. Is there a work around for this or could there be a fix in the next update, please?

How can this issue be reproduced?

  1. It tends to randomly come back after the next Brave Update
  2. One fix I’ve noticed is uninstalling and then reinstalling Brave
  3. Not sure if this is happening to all Windows 7 Users with Brave.

Expected result:
Works for awhile, but then the problem returns.

Brave Version( check About Brave): 1.5.115
