Windos update: Brave display is almost unusable

  1. Start Brave, wrong display
    2.reinstall brave, start, wrong disply
    3.happen since last windows update yesterday Aug. 30th

Try disabling hardware acceleration in settings. Also does this reproduce with Chrome?

I don’t use chrome (usually) but it displays correctly as I started it for this test

I’ve disabled hardware acceleration and now Brave displays correctly.

While waiting for a fix to be able to switch back to hardware acceleration,

Note: I didn’t click “Solution” as it is not a solution in itself yet, it’s a workaround …

You might need to check for drivers update for your machine and then enable back the h/w acceleration. It is dependent on driver support and the version installed on your machine may be older which isn’t fully supported by the browser so disabling it is making it work with older drivers.

On this laptop the automatic updates are on.
Neither my Intel HD 4600 nor my GeForce 730M need an update
My H/W acceleration is on for all my browsers, but only Brave failed.

if you have Chrome on your machine, could you try comparing whats on chrome://gpu for both Brave and Chrome and share the screenshot here?
