Why two different versions of Brave?

Hi all,

I am confused as to why there are two different versions of Brave for Linux?

I’m using Ubuntu 18.04.4 LTS and first version of Brave I have installed is [Version 1.11.104 Chromium: **84.0.4147.105 **(Official Build) (64-bit)] and the other Version 1.11.101 Chromium: **84.0.4147.89 (**Official Build) (64-bit)

With the first version the Rewards wallet wouldn’t activate at the time (it will now it seems), so I started on another version - maybe a Snap one? The problem with the 2nd is it doesn’t have the sync function for passwords etc. and I can’t do things like remove individual cookies but it does offer the ‘aggressive’ tracking blocking that the first doesn’t.

EDIT: Okay, now it seems both have updated to the same version - which now begs another question - why reduce the settings available under the ‘shields’ section in settings and why have they removed the ‘sync’ function?

why have they removed the ‘sync’ function?

A quick search would tell you…
