Why is Brave Password Manager suddenly asking me to input my PIN instead of my Windows password to view passwords and how can I go back to password?

Every time I go into brave’s password manager to view a password, for years it has always only asked me for my “windows login password” to view the stored password for a particular site. This time it suddenly asks for my PIN? Why would it suddenly change? Is there a way I can force it to go back to asking for my password? I don’t know what my PIN is, I never use it. I must have set it 6 years ago on that laptop.

I would have thought it would be asking for your default way you log in to windows? If you log in with a password, it would ask for the password. If you log in with a PIN it would ask for the PIN. I know you can log into windows 10 with a password, PIN or fingerprint. I have always just done password.

Then I rebooted, and this time it asks me for my fingerprint, and this time it also had the option to “select other choices” ie fingerprint or PIN, but password wasn’t even included as one of the options. Last time it didn’t even give me the option “select other choices” it was just PIN only

Is there a way to set Brave to ask for the password instead of the pin?
For future use, I’d like it to not ask for my PIN, but ask for my password instead. After all, at the very same time with the same versions of Brave, my desktop allowed me to put in my password but my laptop asked for a PIN when it never has before.

TLDR part (optional reading)
The reason I wanted to check it anyways is because I sometimes I use my desktop and sometimes I use my laptop. But for this safety training website i’m trying to log in to, I mostly use my laptop since I always have my laptop with me when I’m working out of town, so a lot of my work stuff I do, I do on my laptop. I’m at home now so I prefer to use my desktop now. I have used that safety website on my desktop in the past but that website makes me change my password periodically so the stored password on my desktop is expired so it failed login. I went into password manager on my desktop and entered my windows login password to view it, so I could compare it with my laptop and all I had to do was put in my windows login password but when I tried to view the password for that site in password manager of my laptop, it asked for me to input my PIN. It’s never done that before. It’s always asked me for my windows login password. Luckily I was able to go to that safety website, and autocomplete the password in the field and they had an “eye” icon that I could click on to view the password, and then I put it into my desktop and saved it, but this is really annoying me.
