Why have ads stopped?

Brave ads stopped weeks ago, and I don’t know why…I haven’t changed anything. Please help. Thank you

This is on my phone: Android 13; Brave 1.73.104, Chromium 131.0.6778.204).

No, my Brave Rewards Profile is not connected to a custodian or Solana?

I connected my Brave profile a long time ago (several years ago), but my account has gotten “disconnected” many times, requiring me to reconnect.

Yes, I have been able to successfully receive payments in the past.

No, I am not using a VPN.

Yes, I am in a supported region.

Hello! If your Rewards profile is not connected to a custodian or Solana, you are ineligible to receive monthly payments.

How many ads have you seen this month? (brave://rewards)

My apologies, yes…my account is and has been connected to a custodian.

@LenaAtomika I think there is a bit of confusion as to which way you’re questioning things. Let me try to address it all here:

Every 90 days, give or take, this happens. It’s just a security measure by Uphold. Usually we can still receive payments as it would remain connected on the back end, but it’s still good to sign in again when it does disconnect.

If you mean you have not been seeing ads, then this may not be unusual. How many ads we see are dependent on the number of ad campaigns in our area. Each ad campaign has view limits for how many times each person can see their ads. If there are not many campaigns or if you have hit the view limits for existing ads, then you will not see them.

If you’re curious, you can always look at https://sampson.codes/brave/ads/my_region/ to see how many ad campaigns are in your region. But keep in mind it shows all campaigns regardless of operating system. You would need to check what OS each says they appear for. Then it also shows view limits, how much they pay, etc.

NOTE

The other way which wasn’t sure if you meant would be receiving your payout. If ads are showing but you say you have not been receiving pay, then I would suggest you create a Rewards Support Ticket at https://support.brave.com/hc/en-us/requests/new?ticket_form_id=360001302431

I am still not receiving ads on my Android Brave browser(it’s been weeks…maybe a month), but I AM getting ads on my laptop Brave browser…so something is obviously up with the phone version.
Also, the “Summary” button is not working…nothing happens when I tap on it.
And the wallet is connected for payment on both my Android mobile & laptop browsers.
Can this please be addressed by actual Brave developers/support? How do I get it to them?

@LenaAtomika please share a screenshot of what you see on your brave://rewards page.

@Evan123 also tagging you in for follow-up if any other ideas.

Yes, I am actively using the browswer…it’s the only one I use.
The New Tab Page is just a blank Brave Browser Home page.
And yes, notifications are enabled on my mobile phone.

I went into the “Brave Rewards Internals”, and found Error after Error…way above my knowledge.

Correct. That’s what it’s for. Most “errors” aren’t errors, it’s just a collection of things going on. It’s not for us to understand. To give you an example, here’s an excerpt of mine:

If not set to dashboard, then I don’t think you’d be able to see NTP ads. Those appear as background images on the Dashboard of your NTP. These make up a large number of the ads we see each month. In fact, we’re pretty much guaranteed one
NTP ad every 15 minutes, though may have to open up the dashboard (New Tab Page) up to 4 times before it shows.

But when I say it’s a large percentage, let’s look at mine at the moment. Notice how I have more ads from New Tab Page rather than notification ads?

Did you try the push notification test I linked to? I’m wanting to confirm that notifications are allowed and working for Brave. I’m assuming

Yes, I just tried the Notification Test and it did NOT work, even though Notifications ARE Allowed in Site Settings.

@LenaAtomika to be clear, it’s not site settings that matter but it would be your Android settings. Such as https://support.google.com/android/answer/9079661

So you know, you can enable or disable extensions for every app you have. I’m guessing you disabled it or you have something on your device blocking it.

I haven’t changed anything on my phone, and ALL Notifications are on and Allowed in Brave Browser Settings.

That’s within Android Settings…

Do have Do Not Disturb settings enabled?

Please also ensure notification pop-ups/banners are enabled in the OS settings.

Yes, I made sure to enable the Banner Ads across the to of my phone, too.
And no, Do Not Disturb is not on.

What do your Android notification settings look like? Thanks!

Those are also allowed and on. I quite honestly don’t know what else to do. I’ve made sure to update Brave. Maybe I should uninstall & re-install it?
