Why does my Brave crash every like 2 weeks and unlogs me from every website?

Hi guys, lately (last 2 months) my Brave started crashing.

Always happens like this

I turn on my PC from hibernation or turn it on completely. I log in and wanna browse the internet. I open the Brave and it crashes (doesn’t show any crash tab or something) it just turns off out of nowhere and I have to turn it on. When I turn it on I am unlogged everywhere (google, youtube etc.) it offers to me to open the last tabs I had opened before it crashed so it remembers the tabs, but still unlogs me everywhere. Any tips how to solve that? Happens like every 2 weeks and I am on PC daily, so it doesn’t happen everytime i turn the pc on, but more like randomly…

My version is: v1.44.112
Chromium: 106.0.5249.119

Thanks a lot for your answers and have a great day

Hello there @WindowOpener sorry to know that you are experiencing some crashes with Brave.

Can you try disabling Hardware Acceleration in settings to see if this resolves the issue?

You’ll find this in Settings --> Additional Settings --> System --> Hardware Acceleration

Let me know if that works.
Regards.

Hello, thanks for your answer. Sadly it didn’t help. Happened to me just now again. :frowning:

Hello again @WindowOpener could you please try updating Brave to the latest version to see if that solves the crashes? You can update it here brave://settings/help

Also, try disabling your extensions, if you have some installed, to see if these were causing Brave to crash.

  1. On your computer, open Brave.
  2. At the top right, click Menu → More tools → Extensions.
  3. On to the extension you want to remove, click Remove.
  4. Confirm by clicking Remove.

Let me know if that works.
Regards.

Hi, so it happened again. I got the last upadte, uninstalled all of the extensions (I had only 2 for more than a year) and it still randomly crashes. I’m starting to be really pissed cause loging in on every website every week is starting to annoy me a lot… :frowning:
Anything else I can try?

Thanks a lot

Lol, I just found out that my Avast Cleaner was set on weekly cleaning and it included clearing the browser cache, so I suppose that is the problem.
I am so sorry for wasting your time Kevin, anyways thanks a lot that you tried to help.

Best regards
