The Download Brave for macOS button leads to https://laptop-updates.brave.com/download/BRV030, which redirects to https://referrals.brave.com/latest/Brave-Browser-BRV030.pkg (233 MB). This one fails to install on Ventura 13.3.1, with a useless error:

Right underneath there’s “Downloads of this version of the Brave Browser (desktop) are available for…” and a list of OS links in small font. The “macOS” one leads to https://laptop-updates.brave.com/latest/osx, which redirects to https://referrals.brave.com/latest/Brave-Browser.dmg (215 MB).
The installation instructions for macOS seem to refer to the dmg. This 2018 thread also mentioned two versions.
Is one of them a trojan, or why create this confusing situation? It doesn’t inspire any sort of trust.
