I noticed today that a transaction was made from my Uphold account, sending BATs to Brave Software International, and I never made such a transaction, neither through the tab that Brave offers to donate or support a creator. Why did this happen?
You still had Auto-Contribute on is most likely what happened. It is enabled by default and requires you to navigate to the menu to disable it. It would do up to 1 BAT per month to contribute.
And all it takes is any device or profile you have connected to Uphold to have it enabled for it to take something. I’m guessing you either connected a new device and didn’t disable or you never disabled to begin with.
Ok, thanks for the answer. I will be more careful on the pages that are for auto-contribution. I didn’t think it would really apply, as I’ve been using the browser for a few months now and it never applied, but thanks anyway
