An extension wiped my open tabs and my history so I cannot re-open the around 100 tabs I had open before installing the extension.
I do have a time machine backup of my Mac so I want to recover the tabs from that backup.
Where does Brave store open tabs and what’s the easiest way to recover them using my backup? I did Google and couldn’t find anyone mentioning it.
Thank you!
Those tabs are stored as Sessions, not as History. Extensions can remove History items, but not Session items, so your tabs might still be accessible if you use Ctrl+Shift+T a few times, or install an extension such as this one:
To recover tabs from a profile without knowing the specific file things are stored in, you can
save a copy of your current config directory*
replace the directory with the one in the backup
open Brave to restore the 100 tabs
bookmark the tabs
export the bookmarks and close Brave
replace the original config directory*
open Brave and load the tabs from the bookmarks
What was the extension that deleted the history?

Thanks so much for the fast reply!
Unfortunately, I already tried Ctrl+Shift+T many times in a row and it did open a few tabs but far from all.
The extension was “Tablerone tab manager”. URL: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/tablerone-tab-manager/andpjllgocabfacjlelkfpdemfklpfpo?hl=da
I tried replacing my ~/Library/Application Support/BraveSoftware folder with the one from my TimeMachine backup, but it didn’t bring back any tabs
Best wishes,
Rasmus
