Not all EU regions are supported, you should specify which it is one or check the updated list.

I face the same issue although Poland is listed in available regions on Gemini website - is this equal to being supported within Brave awards?

Not the same, maybe you are able to use Gemini or Uphold, and at the same time you can collect BAT in brave, but the Brave=exchange partnership is restricted only to certain regions. You have to check in the last updated list if your country is mentioned.
