When brave is closed or crashes, all logins are lost

Description of the issue:
Brave seems to no longer permanently store site login data / cookies and logins are lost whenever the browser is closed or crashes

How can this issue be reproduced?

  1. Enable brave sync between two or more devices
  2. Update to latest brave on Linux desktop (Kubuntu in my case)
  3. Close or crash brave

Expected result:
Upon restart / restore of pages, all previously logged in sites (Google, X, youtube, etc.) should remain logged in

Brave Version( check About Brave):
1.79.119 Chromium: 137.0.7151.68 (Official Build) (64-bit)

Additional Information:
I don’t believe this has to do with Shields being up
Allow all cookies - yes
Allow fingerprinting - no
Forget me - no

If I disable shields I have the same issue.

I’m wondering if this is an issue specific to brave sync? I have 3 devices in my sync profile now, two of which (phone and laptop) both have the same shield profile, however the third, I’m not sure about (need to check), Is it possible that sync has set some strange security profile across these devices preventing recording of permanent cookies?

Maybe one of the dev SMEs in this area can comment, by chance is there a temporary database established (memory) that then isn’t being regularly synced back down to the on-disk copy by chance?
