What steps should I take to import my Brave bookmarks file in Windows.old after resetting Windows 10?

Description of the issue:
I reset Windows 10, electing to save personal files. I found the bookmarks file in Windows.old, but don’t know how to import it. These bookmarks were carefully organized in folders.

How can this issue be reproduced?

  1. I reset Win 10, selecting to preserve applications and personal files.
  2. I changed Windows explorer to view hidden items, and found the old Bookmarks file in C:\Windows.old\Users\user\AppData\Local\BraveSoftware\Brave-Browser\User Data\Default. This file has no extension.
  3. I tried pasting (replacing) the old bookmarks file into C:\Users\user\AppData\Local\BraveSoftware\Brave-Browser\User Data\Default and restarting Brave.
  4. I open Bookmarks but I do not see my old bookmarks and the bookmark folders they were in.

Expected result:
I thought Brave would accept the old bookmarks file I dropped into the folder named above.
