newtab.chrome-scheme for brave
about:newtab is for firefox and other gecko based browsers.
There could be something to that, however when I enter ‘newtab.chrome-scheme’ into the URL bar and press Enter, I get a search for that string which is probably not what the OP wants.
When I enter ‘about:newtab’ (even from an already-loaded page), that takes me to the NTP; which I’m assuming is what the OP wants.
But, MMV depending on what the OP’s looking for.
