What is meant by "Top Sites" in relation to URL bar autocompletion?

In Appearance settings, under Show autocomplete suggestions in address bar, what does the Top Sites option do?

Are the top sites somehow related to my past actions (which I would expect the Browsing History option to do), something I can configure, or something determined by Brave? Is it related to Top Sites in Customise Dashboard?

Is there any way to identify which sites are being suggested because they are classified as in Top Sites?

It’s a bit vague really.

@dunxd It’s exactly as it says. If you have a website on your Top Sites, then it will show as one of your options in autocomplete. Yes, if you have visited that site and it’s in your browsing history, then that could be two different sources. However, what if you were to clear your browsing history? Then it would show because it’s in top sites.

Top Sites are the sites you choose as your top sites. They appear on your New Tab Page. Bookmarks are what you save to bookmarks. And Browsing History is all the places you have visited previously.
