Wetransfer drag and drop doesn't work

Description of the issue

Hi everyone

I’ve noticed a small annoying bug.

when you go to wetransfer, it allows a drag and drop into browser option.

with other browsers, you can just drag what file you want to transfer and it will add it automatically to the upload list. (chrome included)

however, with brave, you can not. this problem exists both on windows and osX

default shield settings were activated

the problem presists when the shield is deactivated

drag and drop does work for other websites like gmail though.

Exact URL of the website in question

Does the site function as expected when Shields are turned off? (yes/no)

Is there a specific Shields configuration that causes the site to break? If so, tell us that configuration. (yes/no)

What Operating System and Brave version/Build are you using when you encounter the issue?(See the About Brave page in the main menu)

I had this exact issue and posted before to no response, see below -

I have noticed this behaviour to be intermittent however as at times on another website, drag/drop file upload works perfectly but then at some point becomes disabled/fails. In this case it is amplience’s image management database.

Testing on my end, I can certainly reproduce this on wetransfer – although regular upload of files by selector works so that’s good. But you’ll notice that other sites, as @dardle mentions, work without issue with drag/drop functionality:

Will have to dig into this further for wetransfer.

Further to what @Mattches was showing, here is that intermittent upload behaviour as mentioned; one showing a file uploading as normal and one failing. There was about an hour or two of time between these two videos being recorded but as you can see at some point drag/drop file upload fails. Restarting Brave corrected the error.

File upload - success https://bit.ly/2KWVe3T I’m a new user so can’t attach to posts yet

File upload - failure https://bit.ly/2ZhiAue

Any help would be appreciated

@dardle
Thank you for taking the time to record those examples – really helps a lot!
You say that relaunching Brave fixed the issue – did you try refreshing just the page? Additionally, can you try to reproduce the same behavior – drag/drop not “dropping” – on imgur.com?

I’m trying to assess whether or not the issue is with the browsers drag/drop functionality in general, or if its the site(s) in which it’s being used on.

no problem @Mattches

Refreshing didn’t fix the problem no, nor did logging out and logging back in from this particular site, hence why I had assumed that it was a browser level issue. I’ll try to replicate the error on some other sites, imgur, dropbox etc and hopefully upload another video of the behaviour, its just because I use this cms multiple times a day so it was just the most obvious example.

Tried 2 other sites with drag and drop; (in Brave release; Version 0.68.131 Chromium: 76.0.3809.100 (Official Build) (64-bit)
