Description of the issue:
Webcam/camera source not recognized for utilization in Brave, despite working in other applications and browser. As an example, Google meet outputs “Can’t find your camera”.
The only camera I have access to is my phone and I’m using DroidCam (through the V4L2 loopback module) to create a camera source.
How can this issue be reproduced?
- Install brave-bin (AUR)
- Install droidcam (AUR), though the problem should persist with other forms of camera or at least with other implementations of V4L2 loopback.
- Try an online meeting platform (e.g. Google Meet) to test the webcam
Additional Notes: User is a part of the “video” group and brave settings allow for sites to ask for this permission.
Expected result:
Recognizing video sources and having a working webcam using the phone camera.
This is happening with other applications and browsers including OBS, Discord, and Firefox, and Brave seems to be the exception.
