Description of the issue: When there are many tabs open to the point that the tabs are just represented by their favicons, the new size/hitbox of the media/sound button makes it too easy to accidentally mute the tab when you just want to switch to it instead (via clicking, obviously)
How can this issue be reproduced?
Have a lot of tabs open, so the tabs themselves are just represented by icons, like so:
Play media on one of these tabs
Navigate away from said tab playing media
Attempt to navigate back to the tab through clicking
(outcome): Accidentally mute the tab
Expected result: Tab switches to the one playing media instead of muting it
Brave Version( check About Brave): 1.68.134
Additional Information: Just a bit of a UX peeve from a guy that always has way too many tabs open. Previous versions where the little media/sound icon/button/toggle was smaller and further off to one side were easier to miss when trying to select a tab.
Hard part is the more tabs you open, the smaller that areas become. Based on your screenshot, you are indeed one of the people with a lot of tabs. I mean, mine look more like below on average:
With fewer tabs, it’s easier to avoid accidental clicks. However, for your situation, using keyboard shortcuts might help. For instance, Ctrl+M toggles mute. You can also create custom shortcuts in Brave’s settings at brave://settings/system/shortcuts.
NOTE
I don’t work at Brave. Since you posted in Browser Support, I assumed you were looking for a potential solution, especially in not accidentally clicking the mute buttons. If you’re offering Browser Feedback, I can move the topic so the appropriate team at Brave can consider it.
