Waterfox VS Brave?

How does Waterfox compare to Brave? I have used Brave but left it because some features for me were/are missing. I also never have used Waterfox. So how do they compare to eachother? Which one do you prefer and why?

I know Waterfox is based on the Gecko engine that runs Firefox and I believe it’s an older version with an extended service life. If memory serves, it uses the old system (XML) extensions, before Mozilla/Firefox made the changeover.

Brave is based on the same code as Google Chrome, but without the callbacks to Google services. It gets updates, security patches, and other fixes from the Chromium code (that Waterfox may not, because it’s an older version of FF).

It’s like comparing Firefox to Chrome, at least at a superficial level.
