i cant connect or disconnect the vpn from the vpn tray icon which is located at my taskbar and i also cant see if its connected or not from the tray icon i accidentally clicked remove icon and now its like this i need dire help regarding this issue
Hello! You can enable the VPN button again here: brave://settings/appearance
If you’re having trouble connecting, please try visiting account.brave.com and refreshing your VPN and that may resolve the issue. Thanks!
i re enabled the vpn button but like i said the problem is that i cant connect trough the tray icon i can connect normally by using the browser
If you enable in the browser, does it reflect Connected
in your taskbar? Have you tried removing and adding again?
i tried removing the icon and adding it back it still doesnt reflect connected even if it is connected i also tried re-installing the browser still doesnt work
Have you tried restarting the device?
Did you remove the VPN configuration completely or just the tray icon?
how do i remove the VPN configuration completely i think that might help me with the issue
On Win11, Open Settings, click on Network & Internet, then select the VPN tab. You should see the Brave VPN configuration there.
@yaso but to confirm, the VPN does connect/disconnect if you enable it in the browser?
yes it does but i need it to work that way
@yaso if you go to brave://settings/system
, do you see the User WireGuard protocol in Brave VPN
option toggled on? If not, can you please toggle it on and then install the profile when prompted, then test and see if the VPN icon appears in the tray again and works as expected?
thank you turning that off then on helped me solve my problem.
You are very welcome – glad that did the trick.
