Same here, same brave version on same OS version

Hello,
Thank you both for reaching out to us.
I’m actually not seeing this issue on my end (using same OS and Brave version) — can either (or both) of you please share a screenshot of what it looks like on your end? Here’s a recording of the behavior I see:

Sure, issue happens with both collapsed and non collapsed.

Playing around with this I managed to “get rid” of the odd behaviour, and I also got to know how to get it back :stuck_out_tongue:

This discourse doesn’t allow me to upload videos so I uploaded it to youtube: https://youtu.be/WiJiu9m3AAE (The irony didn’t get lost)

You can find the instructions in the video’s description, but here you have them as well:

To remove the issue, put the video in full screen, create a new window, go to the new window (while the video is fullscreen), collapse the tabs in the new window, go back to your fullscreen window where the vertical tab spaces is magically gone.

To revert the workaround, just hover the mouse over the tabs and it’ll revert to having the ugly space there.

Thank you for the detailed report. It looks like someone else has reported this recently too:

I’m adding your information to the thread as well for the devs to review

Thank you for looking into it, I’m now watching the gh thread as well.

same problem here, not only on youtube, on all full screen video platforms

That github link says the issue isn’t currently assigned to anyone? Is there actually someone currently working on correcting this issue?
