In short, if you’re not connected to Uphold / Gemini in brave rewards, the BATs which display is called vBAT (virtual BAT). vBAT has no real value and is like rewards points for credit cards. When you connect to Uphold / Gemini, that vBAT is converted to BAT. Then you can sell or stake that BATs.
The vBAT which you will have if not connected will expire in April. Those BATs will disappear until unless you connect.

It would be better if they tell us the exact date of removing vBat, so that we get enough time to think or wait if in case India comed under supported region .
Don’t matter na. If they get India back, you will get the vBATs. They are not telling the date cause they have yet not decided since they want to give maximum time to users to adjust to the changes. Once decided they’ll update us.

Nope we are talking about the BATs that show up in ‘Your balance’ section.
All those BATs will expire if you don’t / can’t connect before vBAT deadline.
No offense to brave but if they get unsupported regions back after eliminating vBat then isn’t it a kind of ponzi scheme. Brave doesn’t have to pay bat to the users that means their expenditure decreases and profit increase. If they do that I’m sure some people recognise their tactic and won’t fall again to it but majority will continue to use brave ads believing they won’t be scammed again, who knows what happens next year.
If it they care they would do it before vBat elimination.
I agree. If they take away my vBat, I will not use Brave again, ever - I will treat Brave as a scammer. I have given energy and time to click those ads - sometimes it is quite annoying to do so. For the moment, I turn off the ads, and wait for the good news.
I would suggest that
- Brave just eliminate the vBat for the supported region first by warning the user that their vBat will vanish if they do not move the vBat to the supported wallet.
- Brave should wait to eliminate the vBat for the unsupported region until those regions be supported.

vBAT(virtual bat) is not a token(BAT is a token), means the vBAT is just some simple points like any other applications that offers internally a reward that later can be changed.
Is true, that Brave took fiat/bat for that vBAT you have earned, but if Brave is “constraint” to follow the laws, and we are “constraint” to follow Brave.
vBAT will be deleted soon, and it will lose its value(but, the amount of money charged will remain at Brave, unless you tip/donate to any creator, if you tip the vbat , only 5% will go to Brave, the rest you are tipping will go to support the creator).

Wait until when? Few countries may be added in one month, 6 months, one year, two years, … No one knows when each country will be added. Some may not even be added ever.
It is time to get rid of this buggy vBAT thing. It created more troubles than benefits.
It’s not a “if”, it’s a “will”. They already announced it. You, and everybody else out there in the same conditions, will loose the vBAT for sure.
I get it that vBATs were not supposed to be forever but it has come this far and to me, it doesn’t make much sense to expire vBATs in April then add some countries later in a month or two or in even 6 months.
And for vBATs being an accounting issue for Brave, it’s on Brave. And expiring them this way also sets a precedence. Brave might as well then toss it’s deligence for future issues as well. There is no gurantee that after changes payouts in upcoming months will be smoother.
So for vBATs, I think a good idea is what shm suggested, expire vBATs as countries are made availabe to verify Brave Rewards. And by this the current 53 countries that can verify Brave Rewards now, will have their vBATs removed first! Keeping in mind that now users have selected their Brave Rewards countries. And I say expire vBATs for US people first. 
Brave only care about USA not India just like their government does. I am sure 99% of users all over the world only use brave to get some extra crypto otherwise this browser is not better than mozilla which doesn’t use buggy chromium as it’s base.
