Using DuckDuckGo for search results in a security warning

I do a search on DuckDuckGo > clicking any link offered results in a warning message:

I’ve replaced . with DOT

If I load the URL directly into Brave it works fine.

How can this issue be reproduced?

  1. I don’t know. I’ve been using Brave for years. I just got a refurbished MacBook Pro and the latest version of Brave and I’m having this problem.
