Using Brave on multiple mac accounts issues


I have two user accounts on my macbook for work and personal use which uses Brave browser

My personal account is my main account and I switch to my work account as needed. I switch from my personal account to work account and then log out from my work account and re-login to personal account.

Brave does not load any new websites.

If I click on a new website from an email or bookmarks I see about:blank and a sad smiley face as the favicon on that tab.

The only way Brave works is if I restart my macbook. I don’t think I should be expected to restart my machine everytime I follow this flow.

Any ideas on what I can due to resolve this?

Hello there @Ajslov please accept my apologies for this inconvenience you are experiencing.

Could you please try opening your main profile in private or guest mode to see if the pages load? If they do load, try disabling your extensions to see if this is the cause of the issue.

You can open a Guest Window by going to Main menu --> Open Guest window:

  1. On your computer, open Brave.
  2. At the top right, click Menu β†’ More tools β†’ Extensions.
  3. On to the extension you want to remove, click Remove.
  4. Confirm by clicking Remove.
