Using Bitwarden on mobile Brave browser iOS 16


Trying to use bitwarden on my iphone with Brave mobile search. Works on my PC perfectly but wont show any prompt in Brave. Works perfectly in Safari
How can this issue be reproduced?

  1. Download Bitwarden
  2. Make main password manager iOS settings>passwords>password options>autofill toggle on> bitwarden
  3. Search in brave mobile, no prompt for sign in

Expected result: Prompts to login as Safari does

Brave Version( ): Version 1.48.1 (23.3.2.0)

Mobile Device details Iphone 14 Pro iOS 16.0.3

Same problem after clearing. Does not ask for prompt to enter info

I have tried everything, I also have tried using Zoho password manager which is also supposed to work with Brave browser and it worked perfectly on my PC but never on my mobile browser and it does work on safari mobile and chrome mobile.

I have just recently started using brave and I am facing the same issue as described above(only on mobile).

I went on nike’s official site and prompt to autofill username is not there, although prompt to autofill password on the next page does show up. The same issue shows up in other sites as well where the ‘username’ and ‘password’ fields are on different pages.

I am using Bitwarden and the latest versions of iOS and Brave.

The same issue is not seen when accessing the same site on Safari for iOS.

Hi, I can confirm the steps to reproduce the issue that @amanms mentioned. As they said this issue appears to mainly affect sites where the username/email and password fields are not shown together, i.e. you enter the password on one screen and then the password field appears later.

Safari on iOS does not exhibit this issue, so it appears to be a Brave specific bug.

Prerequisites:

  • Latest Brave version on iOS
  • A password manager selected as the default password manager on iOS (I’m using Bitwarden for reference)
  • You’ll need a saved password in your password manger for the Brave Community site and for Amazon.com

Steps to recreate the issue:

  • Launch Brave and go to Amazon.com
  • Tap “Sign In”
  • Tap on the email field
  • See the keyboard pop up, but that the keyboard does not prompt you to autofill your username from a password manager. (Compare to mobile Safari where the browser will prompt you to autofill the email from your password manager)

However in sites where the email/username and password are shown together this issue does not occur:

  • Launch Brave and go to the Brave Community forum
  • Tap “Sign In”
  • See the email and password fields appear together
  • Tap on the email field
  • See the keyboard pop up, and that the keyboard does properly prompt you to autofill your username from a password manager.


LastPass used to work well with Brave. Now login/passwords are never showing in Brave, even though they show in Safari.

I am on latest iOS, iphone.
