User Data Restoration Failure

Description of the issue:
Greetings, I’m having difficulty restoring the User Settings backup on Brave. I had to re-assimilate my computer with Win10AME, and I probably made a mistake of copying my original User Data folder files into an old folder that already had a user data set from the past.

How can this issue be reproduced?

  1. Backup the User Data folder into another older user Data folder.
  2. Assimilate computer with Windows 10 Ameliorated.
  3. Copy the User Data folders and files back into the User Data folder.

Expected result:
Restoration of previous windows and tabs.

Unexpected result:
"Brave could not access your operating system’s safe storage. This is what’s used to secure data such as passwords and cookies; it’s also required for Brave Sync to connect your browser profile between devices. This means Brave Sync is not running. To resolve this issue, please see the Brave Sync troubleshooting guide.

Brave Version:
Version 1.47.171 Chromium: 109.0.5414.87 (Official Build) (64-bit)

Additional Information:

Have copied the User Data over a few times now, and hit the “Disable Sync (Clear Data)” a few times also at brave://sync-internals.

Is there any way to fix my User Data backup? Or is it a “lost cause” ?

Thank you.
