URL links on Linkedin Post

Hello

It is the same answers from prior closed post:

It was working yesterday. I can see the link in Firefox. The link is:

The only change is recent update for Fedora 41, KDE 6.2

Turning Shields off or set protection to allow does not seem to work.

Please edit your Original Post (“OP”), above, to include:

  • Brave Browser version
  • Computing device’s Operating System

Possibly a character encoding issue?

The Crowley article test link that you provided:

https://www.linkedin.com/feed/update/urn:li:activity:7273349484200280064/

That same link, wherein the colon (" : ") characters in the following portion of that URL address:

/urn:li:activity:7273349484200280064/

are replaced with escaped colon (" %3A ") characters:

https://www.linkedin.com/feed/update/urn%3Ali%3Aactivity%3A7273349484200280064/

Test that.

I am using an iPhone, Brave Browser, Brave Shields UP (but not blocking cookies, javascripts), in Private Browsing Only mode.

I have no trouble with either URL address.

Otherwise . . .

Be Prepared

Clear cookies, cache, history, etc.

In a Brave Browser New Window, go to:

brave://settings/clearBrowserData

Select the Advanced tab

Set Time range to “All time”

ENABLE everything except:

  • Passwords and other sign-in data

(Myself, I would NOT make that exception)
(because I would have a backup prepared.)
(In other words, be prepared.)

Click on the “Clear data” button

Thank you for the assistance.

It is not a character encoding issue, upon correcting the link as suggested. I received an error:

something went wrong

REGARDING STANDARD TROUBLESHOOTING
I do not want to clear cookies, cache, or history. A browser is a vital part of daily drive.

If I have to do so, I will change browser.

UPDATE
It was working the other day and now it is not.

The only event in-between was an upgrade by Fedora. The upgrade also caused issues on grub.

So, what in the upgrade could have impacted Brave?

In the meantime, the Linkedin post inspector found no errors and the link works in a private window.

Go figure

@beffective,
Given that it works in a Private window, I suspect that clearing cache cookies for LinkedIn may resolve the issue. To do this and ensure that you’re only clearing cookies related to Linkedin (not any other sites):

  1. Visit linkedin.com
  2. Click the “Tune” icon in the address bar:
  3. Then click Site settings --> Delete data
  4. Refresh the page

You’ll likely have to log back into the site. Once you do, please test the behavior again and let me know if the issue persists.

Thanks for the suggestion.

Unfortunately, the ‘Tune’ icon is not yet available for Linux platform.

However, I cleared the cache cookies.

The same results were achieved, with a twist.

I checked other individuals and their posts that interest me. I can see their posts.

Posts from Marc C. Crowley seem to be unique.

That said I can see his posts in Brave Private window and I can see it in Firefox.

@beffective,
The exact link shared in the first post does not work for me either — can you share a link to this user’s profile page?

Here it is Mark C Crowley profile:

https://www.linkedin.com/in/markccrowley/

Huh…interestingly enough, I cannot view this guys feed and/or links from his feed either. Other users I can view their feed and click links on those feeds without any issue. I honestly don’t know what to say about this — his profile works in other browsers just fine. There are no errors shown in the dev tools console.

Going to cc @fanboynz here to take a look as he have more insight on this

The best working example,

Has a link too https://brave.com/blog/bat-roadmap-3-0/ this worked without issue here. The

I don’t understand how this helps my issue.

Is it still occuring?

I checked first thing this morning, and yes.

But what was the solution?
