URL bar touchscreen crash

#1

Dell XPS 13 9350, Windows 10 Home, Brave 0.21.24

  1. navigate to a web page
  2. tap the URL bar - this will highlight the URL
  3. tap the URL bar again, on the highlighted text
  4. Brave exits

Clicking with the mouse works fine and causes no problems, but using the touchscreen I can reliably recreate this crash. It doesn’t seem to be a graceful exit as when I restart Brave it has forgotten the tab configuration and gone back to an earlier version - ie. tabs I closed less than ~a minute ago are back

Try clearing all inBrowser data like cache, cookies, search history, form fill data & rest from the beginning of time. Give it a go now.

Also, could you try processing the same error while in incognito mode?

Regards!

Hi @f206149d68b34f42,

There’s an issue logged for something similar to your issue.

Can you confirm if it same?
Best,

Hi @eljuno - yeah this looks like it’s the same issue.
I also noticed the Ctrl+F search bar is affected in the same way - if there’s any text in it and you tap twice, Brave crashes

Same error happens in incognito mode.
