Troubleshooting technical issues is much easier when both the user and support agent practice clear communication. For this reason, we have provided the template below for you to fill out with information about your issue. Please provide as much detail as possible so we can most efficiently resolve your problem.

URL address starting with www.google.com/amp/s/

How can this issue be reproduced?

  1. Open www.google.com in Brave
  2. input some search terms e.g. “latkes recipe”
  3. Tap the first link (in my case it was a link to www.kitchn.com)

Expected result:
The link in the address bar always starts with www.google.com/amp/s/ followed by the actual URL of the page. I want it to be just the actual URL of the page.
Brave Version( check About Brave): 1.18.78

Mobile Device details LG G6, Android 9

This is because you are viewing an Google AMP enhanced website, which essentially delivers websites with faster load-times. Note that if you were to search, for example, using DuckDuckGo and click on the same result, you will not see the AMP part of the URL prepended.

Google uses its own faster CDN to deliver AMP pages. That’s not a bug.

I want it to be just the actual URL of the page.

Tap the :information_source: icon on the top left and you’re done.
