Am I the only one who is constantly annoyed by this? I got to visit a website, like for example apple.stackexchange.com. But as I’m typing, it autofills with the full URL of whatever a recent page I visited on the site is. I do not want to visit some old URL, I just want to get to the homepage of the site! But the only way I can do that, is to actually type out apple.stackexchange.com at which point the rest of the URL disappears and I can get to the actual homepage.

This makes no sense to me and drives me nuts many times every day. Am I the only one?

I agree. The autocomplete is too overzealous.

I’m not sure how Chrome does it, but they seem to get it right.

At a minimum, Brave should drop everything in the URL that is past the “?” or “#” characters.

The exception would be if the user has manually bookmarked a site: autocomplete should be able to completely fill in bookmarks, since the user has explicitly expressed intent here.
