Update deleted all my settings

v1.78.94 just installed. It went back to day-1 mode with all the settings at default and all, every single one, bookmarks gone.

Great. Thanks. You really know how to impress people … NOT.

@CaptMainwairing thanks for reporting. I’m sorry that this happened.

Do you know which version # you updated from? Are you on Windows 11?

Windows 10 Pro. 10.0.19045 last update was KB5056578.
Brave 1.78.94
CPU is AMD FX-6100 (a bit old, but it still works)
RAM 8GB

PS. From? Hmm not off hand. I’ll have a poke around and see if I can throw any light on it.

" ~\AppData\Local\BraveSoftware\Brave-Browser\User Data\Last Version" says 136.1.78.94 , odd as the one installed is 136.0.7103.60

Excuse me if this is a duplicate reply, but my last posting vanished.

Can you please check the following article and confirm whether or not any of this applies to your case?

As “Local State” was re-created therefore the crypto values are new too. Everything in the AppData tree concerning Brave was new as of 15:00 BST (GMT+1) today. Is there any suggestion that Edge is getting “nasty” with rival browsers again? Edge here is 136.0.3240.50 (Official build) (64-bit) and was installed today. I never open Edge but I can’t stop it from automatically updating itself. I have seen it in the past repossess all the default file associations when it updates. When Windows 10 expires this box is going to be FreeBSD or maybe Fedora.
