Hey Support, @Mattches and @Saoiray and whoever else
Description of the issue:
I have another issue that’s been happening for awhile now, the issue is whenever there is a new update for Brave, I’m NOT getting the “UPDATE” ‘notification’ that would normally appear beside the hamburger/sandwich menu at the top right of Brave (beside where the extensions and other Brave default buttons are) when of course there IS an update, to conveniently prompt me to update.
My PERSONAL temporary ‘solution’ is to just always have a PINNED TAB open to brave://settings/help and created a reminder to check every Wednesday or Thursday, but it would be nice if I didn’t HAVE TO do that and just got the “UPDATE” ‘notification’ as I was used to when I first started using Brave.
How can this issue be reproduced?
- A New Official Build Update is available for Brave
- No Notification
- … that’s kinda it really
Expected result:
Obviously when an official build update for Brave is available the notification in the top bar by the hamburger/sandwich menu and extensions/default brave shortcuts shows up.
Brave Version( check About Brave
):
macOS 15.0.1 Sequoia: Version 1.71.118 Chromium: 130.0.6723.70 (Official Build) (arm64)
Windows 11 Home 23H2: Version 1.71.118 Chromium: 130.0.6723.70 (Official Build) (64-bit)
Additional Information:
Also, I’m not 100% SURE if it’s happening on my Windows PC but it definitely is happening on my MacBook, I use my MacBook daily, Windows PC more rarely. (and I don’t have a Linux computer)
