40 years in the printing business and I learned this early.
NEVER EVER MAKE SMALL TYPE Gray or color ( some colors you may get away with )
ALWAYS use 100% black or you will have hard to read text.
SMALL = < 14-18 pt
Apparently no one is teaching designers this fact.
Everyones perception of gray is different.
The best for everyone is black and white otherwise there will be some that cant read it easily.
What I expect is readable text.
