Uninstall Retaliation?

Just ran into the ‘can’t update’ bug, so decided to uninstall/reinstall. Upon finishing the uninstallation, Brave - the browser marketed for privacy and security - OPENED MICROSOFT EDGE to complain (that’s what I call it) about the uninstall.

To be absolutely clear, Microsoft Edge is NOT my default browser, and hasn’t been since about 30 seconds after Windows finished installing it. I’ve done everything in my power to remove any links to it - NO extensions call it by default if I could change them. So instead of calling the default browser like anyone with common sense (except Microsoft… but I repeat myself) would, it uses the system hook to open Edge. NOT COOL. PLS FIX.

Wish you’d have been able to show what you saw. I’m not aware of Brave opening anything after being uninstalled. However, I know sometimes during the uninstall process it might try to ask you to provide feedback on what you didn’t like so they can improve the product. So if we assume that’s what it was, do you have other browsers on your device?

Because if you only had Brave and Edge, then when Brave is gone the only program that your OS would try to open when accessing the internet is Edge. No matter what device you’re using, when you uninstall Brave or whichever web browser you were using, it will automatically shift to its default browser (Edge for Windows, Safari for Mac, Chrome for most Android, etc).

Brave was your default browser. You uninstalled it. What do you think your default browser was at the time then?
