Uncaught runtime errors prevent me from accessing websites

**Description of the issue: Starting from yesterday, an “unknown callstack rejectionhandler” or today, an “uncaught runtime error” will show up randomly while I’m on brave. At first, it was only when I switched tabs and then switched back, but now it is happening while I’m on the tab. This has happened on multiple unrelated websites. For context, my ipad’s brave is synced to macs brave. Yesterday, I got a random popup when I opened brave on my ipad saying that my macintosh might be infected and my sim card and personal data can be damaged. I don’t have a sim card, so it seemed suspicious. After clicking “ok,” the only option to close the popup, it took me to protectflow.life and started a one-minute countdown and showed me a button to remove all viruses. I searched up if the website was legit, and it looked like it had a low trust score so I ignored the tab. I looked up troubleshooting for this problem and it said to disable my extensions which I did. The errors stopped, but then started again today. **

How can this issue be reproduced?

  1. Open brave and do whatever: homework, shopping
  2. yesterday, it was getting an error that that wouldn’t close when I navigated away from a tab and then came back to it, today it is an error that closes and then comes back right after while I’m still on the tab

Expected result: normal browsing without errors

Brave Version( check About Brave):
Version 1.75.178 Chromium: 133.0.6943.98 (Official Build) (arm64)

Additional Information: I attached screenshots and I don’t know if they will be visible but the last one is what the error looked like yesterday but my screenshot didn’t save but this is exactly what it looked like

I edited your description, for clarification . . .

Description of your issue:

Starting yesterday, an “unknown callstack rejectionhandler”, or today, an “uncaught runtime error”, will show up randomly while I’m using Brave Browser.

At first, these errors are reported → only when I switched tabs and then switched back.

But now, these errors are happening while I’m on the tab.

This has happened on multiple unrelated websites.

For context, my iPad’s Brave Browser is synced to my Mac’s Brave Browser.

Yesterday, I got a random popup when I opened Brave Browser on my iPad, saying that my Macintosh might be infected, and my SIM Card and personal data can [might?] be damaged.

I don’t have a SIM card, so it seemed suspicious. About eSIM on iPad

After clicking “OK,” the only option to close the popup, it took me to protectflow.life and started a one-minute countdown and showed me a button to remove all viruses.

I searched up, if the protectflow.life website was legit, and it looked like protectflow.life had a low trust score, so I ignored the tab.

I looked up troubleshooting for this problem, and it said to disable my extensions which I did. The errors stopped, but then started again today.

On your Mac, in a Brave Browser New Window, go to:

Click on Delete data if you see that; if not, click on Reset permissions and then MANUALLY SET all of the items to BLOCK ← for site protectflow.life

On your Mac, In a Brave Browser New Window, go to:

  • brave://settings/clearBrowserData Advanced tab

Time range: All time

ENABLE:

Click Clear data

On your iPad, do the same: clear those items . . . the procedure is a bit different than on the Mac.

Restart the Mac.

Perform a complete “hard”/“force” restart of the iPad ← TWICE:

I followed all the other instructions, but I couldn’t do these last 3 steps

"The BraveSofware folder at:

  • /Users/username/Library/Caches/BraveSoftware/

The com.brave.Browser folder at:

  • /Users/username/Library/Caches/com.brave.Browser/

The com.brave.Browser.savedState folder at:

  • /Users/username/Library/Saved Application State/com.brave.Browser.savedState/

Restart the Mac." because it says " Your file couldn’t be accessed

It may have been moved, edited, or deleted." when I copy and paste the links into a brave tab.

DO NOT use an Internet browser to locate files and folders on your Mac, for the purposes mentioned (locating and deleting a file or folder).

See:

You can type Command + Shift + g while in any Finder window or select “Go to Folder…” from the “Go” menu & type in or paste in a filepath. Press the “Go” button & you are there.

In /Users/username/ . . . you would substitute your Mac user account name.

Thanks for the help! I deleted all the folders you said to.
