Unable to send Apple Mail emails when Brave VPN is connected

Please provide us with the following information

Type of device (iPad pro, iPhone 10, etc):
IPad Pro

iOS version ( Settings --> About --> Software Version ):
iPadOS 14.5

Detailed description of the behavior:
Using Apple Mail — When I send an email, while Brave VPN is connected, the email won’t get sent. Stays in the outbox. When I turn the VPN off, and I send a new email (to and from are the same, as well as content — just text), it does get sent.

I have made the Brave team aware of this issue and we are working to address this.
A couple questions I have to get a better idea of your situation.

  1. What email provider are you using
  2. Do you know the E-Mail protocol of this provider?

More information provided will help us dig deeper as to what the issue might be.

Email was sent to Brave@guardianapp.com.
I’ve been communicating with them (via email) multiple times today.
