Description of the issue:
When trying to purchase item(s) on ‘amazon.co.jp’, I have run into a page that has “You cannot buy this item because it’s out of stock” as the title, with subtext underneath.
This isn’t the usual behavior when there’s an item that’s either not ‘in stock’ or cannot be delivered outside of the service area (Japan). This behavior has been seen when clicking on the ‘Checkout’ button on the cart page, as well as from the ‘add to cart’ confirmation page, meaning the item is available for sale through the specified vendor.
I was able to confirm the issue with turning off Brave Shields and getting the same result, as well as unchecking blocklists and refreshing the pages. Tried similar methods with other browsers with no issue, and confirmed that it wasn’t an account issue by trying via the Amazon mobile app. Ruled out sudden geoblocking by replicating on desktop with a VPN connection via a Japanese server.
