Ubuntu - Brave shows passwords without prompting for root password

Its simple as the title says. Brave password manager should ask me computer level password in order to see password saved on browser, but it doesn’t ask. It shows password, so it means that anyone can just open browser and see passwords? why is this happening and how it can be fixed?
How can this issue be reproduced?

  1. settings
  2. Autofill
  3. passwords
  4. Eye icon to see password.

Expected result: Should ask for root level password to unlock/see passwords stored on browser

Me too! This exactly my problem.

Brave certainly should be asking for your system password before showing them when clicking the View (eye) icon. I’ve reached out the team for more input on this as I’m not entirely sure why this would be the case.

We’re actually seeing this same behavior in Chrome/Chromium, so this will likely have to wait for an upstream fix.
