Typing is showing in reverse order

Description of the issue:
When I type the cursor goes back 1 space so it looks like I am typing backwards. Occasional issue.
It just did this while typing:
Here is what I typed:
this is the problem I am talking about.
This is what shows up:
.tuoba gnikat ma I melborp eht si siht
Looks like each letter appears to the left of the letter just typed.

How can this issue be reproduced?

  1. I don’t know. It just happened again:
    .tnettimretni si mnelborp sihT .
  2. Just tried to type “this problem is intermittent.”
  3. Is this a Brave problem?
  4. Could there be malware on my Mac?
  5. Running mac OS: Big Sur 11.4
  6. Macbook Air 2018.

Expected result:
To have each letter appear to the right of the letter just typed, all the time.

Open the editor here on Community, right-click and select Writing direction from the context menu – is the Left to right option checked? If not, that is likely your issue. If it is, let me know and we can keep troubleshooting.
