Trying to understand why some sites are (unappropriately) filtered by "Ethereum Phishing Detection"

Description of the issue:
trying to address several very legal sites, I discovered Brave does not allow access because of some " Ethereum Phishing Detection" … I don’t understand why/how Ethereum is involved in some whitelist/blacklist site filtering (while, obviously, Ethereum claims it has recently put on whitelist many cryptocurrency sites, on which btw I have my own doubts …)

Steps to Reproduce (add as many as necessary): 1. 2. 3.
try https://www.axis.com/ or https://www.avis.com/ as some very surprising examples.

Actual Result (gifs and screenshots are welcome!):

Expected result:
… well, should allow access to those sites …
Until I understzant if misconfiguration is on my side, this forces me to use another browser …
if not due to misconfiguration on my side, this could devastate image of our Brave community

Reproduces how often:
100% reproductible

Operating System and Brave Version(See the About Brave page in the main menu):

Additional Information:

I found that “MetaMask” extension was running, and responsible for this.
I did throw away the MetaMask extension.
Problem solved - you can close my request
Thanks
