Top sites now showing two lines at the top? I used to be able to display all of my favourites on one page

The top sites are now only two rows. If you create more favourites, you create another page of favourites again only two rows. It used to be possible to create many rows, so you could generally see all your top sites on one page I find this new GUI unsatisfactory I would like to go back to the old one so I could see all my sites at a glance. Though initially it would only show a couple of rows I was able to click the three dots and be able to see all of my favourites.

I understand your frustration with the change in the top sites layout in the latest version of the browser. It sounds like the new design, which limits the top sites to only two rows, is not as useful for you compared to the previous layout where you could see more of your favorite sites at a glance.

Unfortunately, the browser vendors typically have control over the user interface design and changes, and there may not be an official way for you to revert to the old layout. However, here are a few suggestions that may help:

  • Check for browser extensions/addons: Sometimes third-party extensions can modify the browser’s user interface. You could search for extensions that can restore the old top sites layout or provide more customization options.

  • Adjust browser settings: Depending on the browser you’re using, there may be some settings or flags that allow you to tweak the top sites layout. Look through the browser’s settings, flags, or about:config (for Firefox) to see if there are any relevant options.

  • Use a different new tab page: Instead of using the browser’s default new tab page, you could try using a third-party extension or addon that provides a different new tab experience, potentially with more customization options for the top sites view.

  • Provide feedback to the browser vendor: If you haven’t already, you could consider reaching out to the browser vendor (e.g., Chrome, Firefox, Edge) and providing feedback about the top sites layout change. User feedback is often taken into consideration for future updates.

While it may not be possible to revert to the exact old layout, exploring the options above may help you find a solution that better suits your preferences and workflow. Let me know if you have any other questions!
