Top Sites no longer show up when clicking on address bar

Description of the issue:

In the previous brave, version 1.65, I was always able to see my top sites when clicking on the address bar. Now, this has gone away:

However, if I clear the address so the address bar is blank, I can see my top sites like I used to. This seems to be bugged behavior to me and not intentional.

How can this issue be reproduced?

  1. Go to any website
  2. Click on the address bar
  3. Top sites no longer show up

Expected result:

Top sites should show up, like on the new tab page and when the address bar is cleared.

Came here to report the same thing. Quite annoying really. I have to click on the home button at the lower left corner to see the most viewed sites, or do it like you said.

One of the reasons i switched from Firefox to Brave was this feature. Really annoying that it’s not working righf now!

I see that there has been an update, yet no word from the Brave team. This is an extremely frustrating change, and there is no option to add the top sites back. This significantly reduces my enjoyment when using Brave.
