Description of the issue:
When I try to remove Google from my top sites list it doesn’t go away. My default search engine is DuckDuckGo. It automatically pins itself (I did pin Google at first but it shouldn’t stay pinned if I choose to unpin it). When I unpin it and press the X to close it, it goes away, but if i refresh the tab or open a new tab it comes back.
How can this issue be reproduced?
- When I open a new tab
- When I refresh the New Tab page
(I don’t know what caused it to happen in the first place.)
Expected result: I expect a Top Site to go away when I close it.
Brave Version: 1.9.76
Operating System: macOS Catalina 10.15.5 on the 2019 MacBook Pro 13"
I recently started using Brave and I did use Google when I first got Brave but not for very long. I switched to DuckDuckGo pretty quick and I have been using DuckDuckGo for a lot longer than I used Google. Also when I delete a different Top Site, Google also goes away like it knows it’s not supposed to be there. Here’s a direct link to a Reddit video I posted of this (I would attach it as a file but it said that new users can’t add attachments for some reason): https://v.redd.it/4sydrrd1i6151/DASH_1080
