.TMP temporary files being downloaded from the web

When I download a file (any file) from the internet a .TMP file shows up in my downloads folder and there is no option to save the file on brave. No pop up comes up to allow me to choose file location and save it anymore. I used to have no problems with this.

Hello @lhnelson2001

Thank you for reaching out and we’re happy to assist you. TMP files are files that are typically created for backup, storage or cache purposes by a program or operating system. These files are normally generated to store information when memory is needed for another task, or to prevent data loss when programs perform certain functions.

Our best recommendation and if you are using desktop is that you can manually delete temporary files in Windows

  • On your keyboard, press the Windows + R keys at the same time.
  • In the Open field, type %temp%, then press ENTER.
  • Press the CTRL + A keys at the same time to select all
  • Press the DELETE key, and then click Yes when the User Account Control window appear to confirm.

Let us know if that helps!

Hi again! @lhnelson2001

I wanted to know if the issue was solved?
